Name that Style Part I
Divide the chalkboard into 25 equal sized squares. Tell the students to name as many different styles of music they can think of, then write them on the board. Place one in each box. Ask the students for stylist characteristics to fill in the remainder of the box. Play a one-minute excerpts of as many styles as possible. Determine if the stereotypes and characteristics that were listed are true. Some styles may need to be redefined. Have students copy chart and place in their folder for future reference.
