Lesson Plans for 8/7-8/11

No MAPS classes on Monday.

ALL CLASSES:
Take roll and welcome back.

Introduce myself. Play name tag game to introduce students. Have students write their name and four single words to decribe themselves in each of the four corners. Pair the students off and give 3 minutes to explain their chosen words to their partner and vice versa. Then have pairs come forward to introduce each other using the four words on their name tag.

Go over rules, procedures, calendar, grading, and importance of their participation. All information is in handouts and handbook.

6th, 7th & 8th GRADE BAND
Go through Activity Fee sheet and Band Information sheet.

Homework: Bring back student info sheet signed by parent/guardian
Bring back student volunteer sheet.

Go through new Handbook.

Bring instruments beginning on Monday, August 14th.

8th GRADE COMPUTER (A Week)
“Make Your Own Business Card”

Objectives: Practice technical writing skills, evaluate information and identify critical points, and practice descriptive vocabulary.
7th GRADE CHORUS
Go through Activity Fee sheet and Choir sheet.

Homework: Bring back student info sheet signed by parent/guardian
Bring back student volunteer sheet, particularly those with parents who are interested in serving on uniform committee.
Bring folder for next music class.

Go through Handbook—emphasize new things (All-West, Solo and Ensemble)

Choral Warm-ups if time permits.

6th GRADE GENERAL MUSIC
Go through GMS Music Class Rules.
Bring folder for next music class.

Choral Warm-ups if time permits.
